From Brown University
Along with several other monuments on campus honoring military services, Soldiers Memorial Gate stands as a reminder of service, sacrifice and selflessness. Dedicated on April 6, 1921, the fourth anniversary of the entry of the United States into World War I, the names of the 42 Brown community members who gave their lives serving in World War I are inscribed on the stone archway.
