José Estabil '84, ScM '88
José earned his ScB and ScM in Physics from Brown University, where he is a Trustee of the Brown Corporation Governance Committee.
His portfolio of international entrepreneurial activities includes projects in Cambridge (ITH Fund), Cuba (Miami Dade College), Portugal (MIT), Italy (TT Ventures), Japan (Schlumberger), and Russia: José was part of the MIT team that established the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology -‐a graduate school the size of Cal Tech-‐in Moscow, Russia, where he became Dean of International Research. José has been an active contributor to the MIT Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation since 2007 and is a mentor at the Harvard Business School’s capstone entrepreneurship course (Field X).
José volunteers extensively for organizations that create leadership opportunities for underrepresented minorities at the high school, college, post-graduate levels, and industry, including, Brown University, Vertex Corporation External Diversity Advisory Council, Boston-based Conexión, and is a founding member of Miami Dade College’s Idea Center Board of Advisors.
