In a new publication in Physical Review Materials, the authors present a comprehensive study of the effect of charge doping on a Mott insulator with both strong electron correlations and SOC. Surprisingly, the authors find that the system remains insulating at all doping levels, implying that the dopants form an inhomogeneous electronic state.
