Shayan Lame Successfully Defends Thesis

Physics PhD student Shayan Lame successfully defended her thesis "Electrokinetic Noise Driven Dynamics of DNA Molecules and Dynamics of Nanoparticles in Diffusivity Gradients" on Friday, March 24th.

Discussing the potential impacts of Shayan's research, her advisor, Derek Stein said "A highlight of Shayan's experimental research is the new light it sheds on subtle and counterintuitive properties of the Brownian motion of particles in a liquid viscosity gradient. Her work has expanded our understanding of statistical physics and has the potential to inform new discoveries in fields ranging from biophysics to industrial processing."

Congratulations, Shayan!
