First-year PhD student, Erin Morissette, has been awarded a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship. The fellowship will provide three years of funding to support her research.

The proposed research project focuses on the development of measurement and analysis techniques for coupling microwaves with a variety of high-quality, 2D systems in order to advance our understanding of quantum phenomena.

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Army Research Office, and the Office of Naval Research. It is a highly competitive fellowship, awarded annually to around 200 candidates out of 4000 applications.  The fellowship is designed to increase the number and quality of the nation's scientists and engineers.
