A little about me
I am a 3rd year graduate student in the department of physics. My research interests are in observational cosmology, particularly weak gravitational lensing. I am a member of Professor Dell’antonio’s Observational Cosmology, Gravitational Lensing and Astrophysics Group. I studied Astrophysics for my undergraduate degree at University College London. My MSci thesis was on Measuring Cluster Ellipticity using Weak Gravitational Lensing working with Dr. Eduardo Cypriano at UCL. I also conducted research as an undergraduate research fellow at Caltech with Professor Nick Scoville and Dr. Peter Capak.
I currently organize the Brown Astrophysics Journal Club and maintain the website. I am always on the lookout for exciting new speakers and if you are interested in presenting or attending, please email me. We have a speaker series, dedicated to bringing exciting graduate, postdoc and faculty speakers from the local area and a traditional journal club for review of recent Astro-ph submissions.
I am also currently the graduate student liaison for the Sheridan Center and department of physics and I am also the teaching assistant training coordinator for the Department of Physics. The TA training is designed to accustom incoming graduate students with the responsibilities they will face as teaching assistants. We also provide a mentoring program to encourage interactions between senior and incoming graduate students.
My girlfriend, Jenny Fisher, is a graduate student at Harvard. She studies transport of CO and Sulphates across the arctic in Daniel Jacob’s atmospheric science group.
