PURPOSE: To show SHM and to measure the period of oscillation.
DESCRIPTION: Water is dyed purple and rests in a u-tube connected to a squeeze ball. Hold the ball and squeeze it to push the water and send it into oscillation. Observe the period of oscillation is the square root of 2g/l.
Use a video camera and a white backdrop to project in the lecture hall.
EQUIPMENT: U-tube, squeeze ball.
