3a10.30 Torsion Pendulum

PURPOSE: To show the mode of oscillation for a Torsion Pendulum, and to show that it is Simple Harmonic Motion.

DESCRIPTION: A Torsion Pendulum, as shown, is started.  To change the frequency the weights can be moved in or out with the use of a screwdriver .

EQUIPMENT: Torsion Pendulum, screwdriver.

SETUP TIME: None.
