PURPOSE: To show that a rotating body is constantly being accelerated towards the center of rotation.
DESCRIPTION: A clear flat disk filled with water is pivoted to rotate about a bearing. The water contains a large air bubble. When the disk is spinning the air bubble moves towards the center of rotation.
EQUIPMENT: Air bubble in disk apparatus. Stored in mechanics above the weights.
SETUP NOTES: Caution must be used in handling. Do not shake it or the bubble
will ruined.
