PURPOSE: To show the ROYGBIV spectrum of light.
DESCRIPTION: A slit is inserted in a slide projector and the light is aimed through a dispersion prism. The spectrum is seen on the screen as shown in the photo. Please disregard the absorption line in the photo. It does not appear when the pure white light is projected.
Also, in addition to dispersion of white light the recombination of white light can be shown. See the photos below:
