PURPOSE: To show a silicon semiconductor
DESCRIPTION: A slice of doped silicon has indium soldered wire connections. It is connected to an Ohmeter and reads a resistance of about 167k Ohm in ambient room lighting. When a flashlight is held close to it the resistance drops to about 89k ohm.
EQUIPMENT: The doped silicon is stored in the modern physics cabinet, the large ohmeter is stored in the lectricity and magntism cabinet.
SETUP NOTES: Conncetions are shown in the photos.
