PURPOSE: To show Paramagnetism and Diamagnetism.
DESCRIPTION: A liquid oxegyn making cone is filled with liquid nitrogen. The liquified oxegyn drips into a small dewar beneath the cone. Once the little dewar has been sufficiently filled the liquid oxegyn is poured between the poles of a strong magnet that has a pair of pole concentrators attached.
A piece of bismuth is placed onto a scale and a strong rare earth magnet is brought very close. The scale shows a force.
