PURPOSE: To measure electric charge.
DESCRIPTION: Electroscope, as shown. The verticle needle will rotate proportionate to the amount of charge placed at the top. Various accessories (not shown in the photo) can be attached to the banana plug at the top; A flat plate, a conductive ball, and a Faraday ice pail can be connected. It can be back lit using a separated overhead lamp base for better viewing.
EQUIPMENT: The two Leybold type electroscopes are stored in the electricity and magnetim cabinet with the accessories. The overhead lamp base is stored in the vault.
