A) Ring w cut. A loop rests on the OHP and has a short cut in it. A ball bearing
is pushed to run around the inside of the ring. Ask the students: When it comes
to the cut does it (1)go straight out radially? (2) continue in a circle? or (3)
go out tangentially, in a straight line?
C) Puck on a platter. A puck rests at the center of a turntable. Start the
turntable rotating with constant velocity and move the puck away from the center
of rotation until it is moving sufficiently fast to fly off the turntable.
D)Pail of water. Whirl the pail around and the water remains inside the bucket.
E)loop the loop. How high must a ball be placed in order to complete the
loop-the-loop?
